Simply Rose Petals was founded in 2004 by mother-daughter team, Jan Slater and Sarah Sammon. Initially they grew cut-flower roses to offer rural Victoria a locally grown, fresher alternative to the imported flowers previously available.
Growing cut-flower roses from Swan Hill on the Murray River proved difficult with cool freight unreliable, annual heat waves and a restricted supply season. In 2005 Jan and Sarah trialled their unique dried rose petals at bridal expos. After seeing the delight that their brightly coloured dried rose petals gave brides, they converted their entire rose farm to rose petals in that same year.
Over the years Jan and Sarah have continued to expand their range of colours and types of rose petals available. Simply Rose Petals has been recognised with a number of awards for innovation, customer service and the pursuit of excellence.
Some of those awards include:
- 2008 Finalist Victorian Telstra Business Awards
- 2008 Winner South Australian Bridal Awards for Special Services
- 2007 Winner Victorian Bridal Awards for Special Services
- 2006 Finalist Victorian Telstra Business Awards - Young Business Woman and Innovation categories
Simply Rose Petals continues to strive to be the leading supplier of rose petals in the world. They have been a nationally Accredited Australian Bridal Service Business since 2005 as well as a nationally Accredited Wedding Supplier of the Australian Bridal Industry Academy since 2007.
